Rules and how results are settled

  1. Pick a coin (12 choices including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE) and a horizon (5 minutes, 15 minutes or 1 hour), then press UP or DOWN.
  2. The entry price is the latest Binance spot trade price at the moment you press; the start time is that moment on the exchange's clock. Expiry is start time + horizon.
  3. After expiry, the exit price is the close of the Binance 1-second candle that contains the expiry time. If nothing traded in that second, it is the last trade before expiry. If 1-second candles can't be fetched, the 1-minute candle is used the same way (shown in the history).
  4. Exit above entry means UP wins; below means DOWN wins. An exactly equal price is a push and is left out of the hit rate.
  5. Up to 10 predictions can be open at once. If you close the page, they are settled at their real expiry from historical candles the next time you open it.

Your record (wins and losses, hit rate by coin and horizon, win streak, daily streak, the latest 100 results and badges) is stored only in this browser's localStorage and is never sent to a server. The daily streak counts dates in this device's time zone.

Picking up or down at random gives a hit rate near 50%, and over a few dozen rounds chance alone routinely produces anything from the 40s to the 60s. Short-term price moves are close to unpredictable, so treat results as mostly luck. There is no money and no points, and the record can't be exchanged for anything. This is not a trading signal or investment advice.

What this tool does

Will Bitcoin be higher or lower five minutes from now? Pick a coin and a horizon (5 minutes, 15 minutes or 1 hour) and press UP or DOWN: the game records the live Binance trade price as your entry and, at expiry, settles the call against the real Binance 1-second candle close. There is no money and no points. Wins, losses and pushes, hit rate by coin and horizon, win streak, daily streak, your latest 100 results and badges are kept in this browser only. A coin-flip baseline (50%) is always on screen: this is a game, not a trading signal or investment advice.

How it is calculated

The entry price is the latest trade received from the Binance spot WebSocket (aggTrade) at the moment you press; if that price is more than 5 seconds old or the feed is down, a fresh REST price is fetched on the spot. The start time is the moment you press, on a clock aligned to exchange trade times, and expiry = start + 5 minutes, 15 minutes or 1 hour. 1.5 seconds after expiry the game fetches Binance 1-second candles from 60 seconds before to 60 seconds after expiry and uses the close of the candle that contains the expiry (candle open ≤ expiry < candle open + 1 s) as the exit price. If nothing traded in that second, it is the close of the last candle before expiry, i.e. the last trade at expiry. If 1-second candles can't be fetched, 1-minute candles are used with the same rule (marked "1-min candle" in the history). Exit above entry means UP wins, below means DOWN wins, and an exactly equal price is a push. Hit rate = wins ÷ (wins + losses), with pushes left out. For example, UP at 62,000.01 USDT wins if the 1-second close five minutes later is 62,000.02 and is a push at 62,000.01.

Things to know

Frequently asked questions

How exactly is a prediction settled?

The exit price is the close of the Binance spot 1-second candle that contains the expiry time (start + horizon). If nothing traded in that second, it is the last trade before expiry. Exit above entry means UP wins, below means DOWN wins, and an exactly equal price is a push that is left out of the hit rate. Only if 1-second candles can't be fetched is the 1-minute candle used, and the history says so.

What happens if I close the page?

Your predictions stay. They are saved in this browser's localStorage, and the next time you open the page each expired prediction is settled by fetching the historical 1-second candles around its expiry, with the same rule. Price moves while the page was closed count exactly as they happened.

How are time zones handled?

Start, expiry and candle times are all computed in UTC milliseconds, the same clock Binance uses, and converted to this device's time zone only for display. A prediction placed in one country and opened in another settles the same way. Only the daily streak uses local dates (midnight in this device's time zone). If the device clock is slightly off, the start time is still aligned to Binance trade times.

Does a 60% hit rate mean I'm good at predicting?

Not necessarily. Flipping a coin gives about 50%, and with few predictions chance alone often produces 60% or more (about 32-68% over 30). Short-term crypto prices are close to unpredictable, so results here are largely luck. Enjoy it as a game; don't use it as a trading signal or investment advice.

Is any money or reward involved?

No. You can't stake or win money, there are no points or rewards, and the record can't be exchanged for anything. Nothing is sent to a server; the record stays in this browser.
